Una volta il settentrione era politicamente associato all'espressione “Vento del Nord”, con un preciso significato di rinnovamento per tutto il Paese.
Ora è ben altra l'aria che spira, non più dalle Alpi, ma dalla villa di Arcore: fetida e ammorbante per l'intera nostra nazione.

In Europa i cambiamenti politici si perseguono nelle urne e con la mobilitazione politica pacifica dell'opinione pubblica e non con la violenza in piazza. Senza negare la nostra solidarietà ai popoli tunisino ed egiziano, come socialisti non possiamo aderire e nemmeno giustificare una deriva terzomondista in Italia, ma con uno stato d'animo pieno di amarezza dobbiamo dire, che il miglior antidoto all'estremismo sterile sarebbe stato l'esistenza di una sinistra rinnovata e ristrutturata: la sinistra che non c'è e che dovrebbe esserci.
