Proprio pochi giorni fa, Elisabetta (la mia ragazza N.d.A) ha comprato un libro sulla storia del Partito Socialista Italiano, e iniziata la lettura si è trovata a leggere di come siamo nati, nella Sala Sivori a Genova 118 anni fa, dando inizio a quella che fu una vera e propria storia di "apostolato laico".

La Sinistra dovrebbe essere la forza che più tende a difendere l'eguagilanza, sociale, economica e culturale. La destra quella che invece propone soluzioni più verticali, che siano messe in termini di "darwinismo sociale" liberista (solo i più forti sopravvivono) o in senso gerarchico, tradizionalista / religioso, o addirittura autoritario.

Di conseguenza, non credo che debba mutare il bacino di persone che vogliamo rappresentare: si tratta di tutti i ceti svantaggiati dall'attuale società, che dobbiamo almeno provare a promuovere in un'ottica di maggiore equità.

Apprezzo Fini per la strada risoluta che ha percorso da Fiuggi a Gerusalemme fino alla recenti posizioni sui diritti civili, su immigrazione e cittadinanza. Non è in una posizione facile, al di là delle apparenze e forse delle tentazioni di piacere a tutti come Presidente della Camera e come “Présidenziabile”. Se si acqueta svanisce, se contesta l’egemonia della Lega rischia di entrare in urto con Berlusconi. Fini sa che fuori dal PDL c’è solo lo stagno centrista povero d’acqua e pieno di lucci, reali e immaginari. E poi il PDL l’ha co-fondato anche lui sebbene dopo più che un dubbio, una crisi. Dovrebbe rafforzarsi dentro il partito, ma il partito è una figura estemporanea, un plebiscito berlusconiano permanente. Dovrebbe, come ha provato, allargarne i confini mentre si dota almeno di uno statuto rispettato, ma rischia di urticarne lo spirito riconoscente e gregario verso il creatore e il benefattore di tante carriere.
